Kathryn Bigelow winning her first Oscar
I remember actually really tearing up during this. it was the night before my SUNY Purchase interview and it just felt really cosmic and hopeful, like I could do this in the future. I know the Oscars are kind of bullshit, but fuck it, I’ll always have a soft spot. They always fall around my birthday and I’ve watched them with my mom since I was like 10 and I’ve always fantasized about winning one. And watching her win that night was just a weird affirmation that maybe I could one day too.
Man I get really stupid when I get sentimental. Fuck it.
